The Young Lawyers’ Section has had an eventful 2014‐2015 year.

The CCCA Section of the MBA offered many activities to its members during the 2014/2015 year. The section provided six lunch‐time sessions to its members, one dinner event and sponsored two Mid‐ Winter Conference Sessions. 

During the 2014/2015 year (approximately the beginning of May, 2014 to the end of June, 2015), the executive has been comprised of two Co‐Chairs, Kathryn Hordienko and Karlee Blatz

During the 2014 ‐ 2015 term (September 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015) the Civil Litigation Section sponsored four professional development seminars.  

The Section continues to serve as a resource‐in‐waiting for MBA Council and membership on transportation issues.    As Provincial Chair, I also sit on the National Executive of the Canadian Bar Association Air and Space Law Section.   

This year, the Tech & IP Section has conducted the following events

The Equality Issues Section works toward equality within the legal system and legal profession, in particular on the basis of sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, age or disability

The first substantive educational session was held in December 2014. Terry Sargeant the current Chair of the Clean Environment Commission gave a presentation on Effective Advocacy before the CEC.

Doug Ripley had been Chair of the Health Law Section from June 2013 to January 2015.  Due to work commitments he stepped down in January.   Past Chair, Catherine Tolton, assumed the role of Chair of the Section as of February 2015.
