9to5 cast

This past May marked the 30th annual co-production between the Royal MTC and the Manitoba Bar Association of the Lawyers Play.  This co-production is the result of an incredible partnership between these two organizations, where a cast made up entirely of volunteer lawyers, law students, judges, and law professors take time out of their busy schedules to put on a spectacular show for a great cause.  The annual Lawyers Play is one of the events in the MBA year which I look forward to most because we get to watch incredible performances from our talented members, while raising funds for the Royal MTC and my favourite summer festival, the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival.  Since its inception, this co-production between the Royal MTC and the MBA has raised over $1.1 million!
 
This year was no exception to the rest, as the cast and crew of 9 to 5 The Musical delivered an incredibly fun show packed with laughs and memorable musical numbers.  With five sold-out shows, major funds were once again raised for the Royal MTC and the Winnipeg Fringe Festival.  

Auditions for this production were held in November 2022, and the cast and crew spent countless hours in rehearsal and planning for the show until its big debut on May 9, 2023.  

On behalf of the MBA, I want to thank the cast and crew for their remarkable contributions toward the success of 9 to 5 The Musical.  You are all shining examples of talent and generosity in our legal profession, and the Lawyers Play does not succeed without your hard work and dedication.

I would also like to thank the Director and Choreographer, Jillian Willems, the Stage Manager, Chuck McEwen, the staff of the Royal MTC, the Lawyers Play Committee members, and our featuring sponsors, 300 Main, Lawton Partners, U of M Faculty of Law, and Fairmont Winnipeg.  Thank you for being part of this wonderful team that has produced an incredible show each year.
