The Manitoba Bar Association is governed by our branch bylaws and policies along with the bylaws of the CBA. Led by our President, our Executive Committee is made up of nine members responsible for advancing the work of the Manitoba Bar Association. They ensure the necessary resources for branch operations, and oversee the outcomes of our advocacy, programs and activities.
MBA Council provides a forum for leaders in the Manitoba Bar Association to learn, inform and promote the work of the CBA in Manitoba. MBA Council serves as an advisory group to the Executive Committee.
Our Executive Director leads the Manitoba Bar Association operations and manages our team so we can support and serve our members.
National governance
Our national association is governed by a President, supported by a 15-member Board of Directors. The National Board represents the diversity of Canada’s legal profession, including practice types, experience, skills, geography and more. All provinces and territories have a seat at the table.
Each member serves a two-year term. Board member terms are staggered so only some of the Board change each year.
