Description
Associate - Solicitor
Wolseley Law LLP was founded in 2016 and is now looking to grow our firm again due to increasing demand for the way that we “do law differently”. Our firm relies heavily on technology to offer both traditional legal services and innovative approaches when appropriate, with an objective of putting our lawyers in the best possible position to offer quality services to our clients while serving as much of the community as possible.
We are currently searching for a lawyer interested in a solicitor’s practice. The successful candidate would join a team of two other corporate/commercial lawyers and two other estate/ elder law lawyers here in our office.
On the corporate commercial side, we are seeking someone who can step into a varied corporate practice currently centered around, but not restricted to, small and medium-sized business transactions and commercial real estate transactions. Experience with corporate reorganizations, partnerships and co-ownerships, secured transactions and financing, and an understanding of non-share corporations, is something that we would be interested in hearing about as well.
On the estate and elder law side, the ideal candidate would join a team with the current instructors of the Wills and Succession course at Robson Hall. We are seeking someone who is comfortable with non-contested estate administration, estate planning and will drafting, and committeeships.
The ideal candidate will tell us about their experience in these areas in their cover letter. We understand everyone can multi-task, use Word, and communicate effectively – please let us know about you and your work, and leave out the puff. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently and has an ability to carry their own files, and to be available to help others in a team-based environment. We rely heavily on tech tools and programs and are searching for someone who has a facility with, or the ability to quickly learn, Clio, MinuteBox, Asana, or other similar software products.
We are a firm with partners that value work life balance in a very real way and wish to give that same luxury to anyone who joins our team. There is plenty of room for practice growth and ample file opportunities, but our targets are very, very attainable and provide ample flexibility in practice and in life. The ideal candidate would have 2-7 years of experience, but we are open to considering anyone who believes they may be the right fit.
If you are interested in joining our team, please send a cover letter and resume, in confidence, to jobs@wolseleylaw.ca by 11:59 p.m. on September 11, 2026. Candidates may be interviewed before the posting closes and will be interviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
