The Opportunity

We are seeking a mid-level corporate commercial associate with 3-9 years of post-call experience to join our growing business law practice. The successful candidate will bring strong transactional experience, sound judgment and excellent drafting skills. This role offers the opportunity to manage files with increasing autonomy, work directly with clients and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

§  Commercial Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and transaction document. Depending on experience, the associate may support or lead components of share and asset purchase transactions, corporate reorganizations, financings, real estate conveyances and due diligence. Experience in every area listed is not required.

§  Client Advice: Provide timely, practical and business-oriented legal advice to clients across diverse industries, including identifying legal and commercial risks and recommending workable solutions.

§  File and Transaction Management: Manage files from initial instructions through closing or completion, with appropriate supervision, while coordinating deadlines, maintaining clear client communication and delivering consistently high-quality work.

Required Experience & Qualifications

§  3-9 years of corporate/commercial experience.

§  Demonstrated ability to draft, review, negotiate, and structure commercial agreements and transactions.

§  A solid grounding in corporate commercial law and/or real estate law, including transactional M&A work and corporate governance.

§  Member in good standing with the Law Society of Manitoba (or eligible for admission).

§  Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships.

§  Sound judgment, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
