COMMUNITY LEGAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (CLEA), requires a Lawyer
CLEA is a registered charity, incorporated in 1984, that helps Manitobans learn about the law and our legal system. Some of our specific programs include: The Law Phone-In & Lawyer Referral Program, plain language publications, presentations about the law, and webinars.
Working under the direction of CLEA's Executive Director, the lawyer will:

staff CLEA’s Victims of Intimate Partner Violence Hot Line

respond to telephone, e-mail and other requests for information

make appropriate referrals

collect and maintain accurate records of services provided

perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• lawyer entitled to be licensed to practice in Manitoba
• excellent understanding of family law, intimate partner violence; knowledge of criminal law and child protection would be an asset
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• ability to handle and give direction to telephone interviews and emails with confidence and sensitivity
