The Manitoba Bar Association Welcomes New President and Executive Committee for 2026–27

September 1, 2026

The Manitoba Bar Association is pleased to announce its 2026–27 President and Executive Committee, effective September 1, 2026.

Robert Pellizzaro Begins his Term as President

This year, the Manitoba Bar Association welcomes Robert Pellizzaro as its new Branch President for the 2026–27 term. He succeeds Stacey Soldier, who served with distinction over the past year.

Robert is a founding partner at Mayer Dearman & Pellizzaro, with a practice focused primarily on family law. He represents clients in separation and divorce, child custody and access, child and spousal support, adoptions, guardianship applications, and the division of family property, and is known for a practical and compassionate approach to dispute resolution, whether through negotiation, litigation, or mediation.

Robert completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Winnipeg before earning his law degree from the University of Manitoba in 1991. He has practised in Thompson since 1993, appearing at all levels of court in Manitoba and playing a part in several precedent-setting cases. He has earned a reputation across northern Manitoba for his strong courtroom presence, clear communication, and commitment to his clients.

Robert has contributed to the profession through service on Law Society of Manitoba committees and has served on the MBA Executive Committee since 2024, first as Director of Membership and then as Vice-President. He is also a longstanding volunteer in his community, having served as an elected School Trustee from 1998 to 2014, as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Thompson School Board, as Vice-Chair of the Thompson Community Foundation, and as a board member of the Thompson Crisis Centre.
