The Manitoba Indigenous Lawyers’ Forum Section is a social networking and mentoring forum for Manitoba law students, law graduates and lawyers. The mandate of the Section is to facilitate social networking, mentoring, and professional development among Indigenous lawyers, law graduates and law students throughout Manitoba, and to celebrate Indigenous legal excellence and Indigenous culture. The Section is not a group formed for the study of substantive law and instead brings together lawyers of all practices; for support, networking and mentorship opportunities.

The Section will have a variety of programs and events including both informal and formal mentoring, as well as periodic gatherings offering opportunities for connection and celebration. Due to the nature of the Section and its mandate, we anticipate that members will primarily be Indigenous law students, law graduates and lawyers. However, we welcome all members, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, who support our mandate to join the Section. We hope to be a group that fosters integration and relationship-building among Indigenous and non-Indigenous persons in Manitoba’s legal community.
